End Of Convenience?

Posted by Foobooz on February 27th, 2008

Jerome Nottingham IV has some more on the closing of the Rittenhouse Square Wawa, the fifth Center City Wawa to close since 2000.

Wawa closed about 20 stores nationwide last year, including two in Center City, according to Wawa spokeswoman Lori Bruce.

“This is not the beginning of a pullout of Center City Wawa’s,” said Bruce, who disputes rumors that the company is focusing on building Super Wawas, which are larger and include gas pumps.

Wawa has opened six stores in Philadelphia since 2004, but none in Center City.
