Adobe on the Avenue?
Posted by Kirsten Henri on February 27th, 2008
First sushi, now Southwestern? It appears that Adobe Cafe, the “Santa Fe steakhouse” high up in the hills of Manayunk, in Roxborough is coming to Passyunk Avenue.
It seems to be moving into the rather grand space that used to be Elements Lounge Sports Bar/Philly Jazz & Blu at 1919-1925 Passyunk Ave., next door to Le Virtu.
A call to Adobe yesterday for further details has not yet been returned, but check out the photographic evidence…

Just FYI…
“high up in the hills of Manayunk” is called “Roxborough”

The first comment is correct, the Adobe Cafe is in Roxborough, just above Manayunk. It’s just an extra couple of blocks up Green Lane from Main Street. For those of you familiar with “Adobe,” there is another one coming real soon! No definite date though (as said by an employee), but they are getting close. I am a long time regular at the original and I suggest for those who are not familiar with Adobe, to go check out the one in Roxborough in the meantime. We go on Tuesday nights and sit in the bar before 6:30. Order some cheap appetizers off of the happy hour menu (including great wings). Get a round of drinks and move on to the 2 for $30 dinner and drinks. Its a great time.

Sorry guys, neighborhood geography is not my strong suit. It’s been corrected.

Hopefully the Adobe Cafe has improved greatly since my one and only meal there many years ago. I guess anything beats an empty storefront, though.
