Canavan’s Pub

Posted by Foobooz on December 19th, 2007

Canavan’s Pub

Maker’s Local is no more. Who knew? the lofts district’s first bar of note didn’t last long as a partner was bought out early and the place renamed Canavan’s Pub. Adam Erace checks out the space and has a “damned good meal for less than $20.”

Canavans is right around the corner form my apartment. Don’t get there as often as I’d like, but I dig their wings.

I think the place is great. I meant to check it out sooner, but I don’t really drink or go to bars. However, it was freezing out yesterday and I didnt want to walk far (Canavans is only about a block from my house)…and we stopped in for some simple fish and chips. I thought it was perfect ($9). They have a small menu, but it has salads with Tuna steak, sandwiches, pulled pork and a $12 steak. The best part for me is that the kitchen is open until 10pm. I just think this is a great addition to the neighborhood.

    Canavan’s closed in March.

Looks like Canavan’s will be reborn as Prohibition and run by the people behind Cafe Lift.
