Loving Philadelphia

Posted by Foobooz on September 11th, 2007

Philadelphia newcomer Jael McMcHenry gives 30 reasons she loves Philadelphia and of course there’s lots of food reasons included.

Is it love, or infatuation? Am I completely enamored of Philadelphia because it’s the first new city I’ve moved to in almost a dozen years? Or because I’ve heard so many expectation-lowering information sessions, so many qualifiers and apologies, that I couldn’t help but find the city to be better than advertised?

Or, is it possible that Philly is… just awesome?

I wish everyone had that kind of enthusiasm in “Negadelphia”.

The people that enjoy the city the most are those who are not originally from here. It’s the locals who are negative.

  3. Proust Says:

Agreed. If locals saw what it was like to live in a some podunk town in the middle of nowhere, i think they would appreciate what they have here. Sometimes I think that Philadelphians love to complain just for the hell of it.
