Rylei A Good Bet For Locals

Posted by Foobooz on August 23rd, 2007

City Paper takes on Rylei, the Northeast’s BYO that recently received a promising review from the Inquirer’s Craig LaBan.

For Northeasters who desire a slightly fancier place, Rylei is a good bet. The menu isn’t that ambitious by downtown standards, and there were a few false moves, but Vargas has taught himself well.

amazing! delicious! the gnocchi was the most amazing I have ever made or had; not anything close to the usual ’sinkers’ that you have had before – fluffy little pillows of light yummy goodness! and it’s nice to see such a fine brunoise outside of classical french restaurants….
The escolar (butterfish) and duck were executed perfectly; the skin on both were amazingly crunchy and pefectly cooked and juicy and tender on the inside, totally and utterly delicious, not a doubt; can’t wait to try the fall menu – well done, chefs! we came in early, as the second customers sat and as we sat and ate our meals, the place just filled up. check this out for sure!
