Foobooz - Your guide to food and drink in Philadelphia

Exploring Chinatown In A Big Way

Posted by Foobooz on August 21st, 2007

Finding Philly explores the food of Chinatown in a big way, 5.5 restaurants in just 3 days. Lots of highlights along the way.

Hoo boy. This was the killer of the day. Imagine this: japanese eggplant stuffed with pork and deep-fried in a tempura-like batter. What could possibly be wrong with that? And if the dish comes out piping-hot with a spicy dipping sauce you might as well just throw in the towel. You’ve lost. Szechuan Tasty House has won again. I don’t swear on this blog but God Damn. That Shit’s Tasty.

I like the food at the tasty house as well, but their delivery service is terrible! All 3 times we ordered delivery they were at least half an hour to an hour late - and we only live 10 minutes away! They were totally unhelpful when we called too, saying that the food was on the way when it obviously hadn’t left yet. Just a bad experience all around. They shouldn’t offer delivery
