Best Nachos In The City
Posted by Foobooz on August 24th, 2007

We received an interesting tip this morning at Foobooz headquarters, the nachos at Azure might just be the best in the city. Tipster Eric says the Azure chicken nachos are followed closely by the nachos at Bishop’s Collar. And that’s some high praise as we sampled the Collar’s nachos just a couple of Fridays ago and imagine they would be tough to beat.
Any other nominees for where to check out nachos around the area? The comments are open.

Haven’t been to Azure yet, but my current favorite nachos are at Royal Tavern.

the nachos at Roosevelt’s pub on 22nd and walnut also make honorable mention. I think it could feed a family of 5

New bar opening up on Wednesday, Jose Pistoles, at the old COPA too (next to mcglinchey’s) will be a contender for sure.
The chef, Trevor Budny (Striped Bass, Vetri) has taken into consideration all common nacho complaints.
He will actually be making them on sheet trays…cutting them into six equal portions…then placing one section on top of the other and serving it. That was every single nacho has the goods.
Royal Taverns are pretty damn good though. The only time I eat “vegan” beef.

I second (third?) Bishop’s Collar. If you’re nice they’ll even let you order them for brunch!
Also (I won’t admit how I know this), Hard Rock Cafe has great nachos that rival BC.

I like Bishop’s Collar’s nachos but Cantina in South Philly blows them away. No contest.
