Just had an awful night at Les Crepes. Waitstaff was inexperienced and frazzled, kitchen was out of many dishes (no onion soup! no coq au van! no french fries!), our food arrived long after we ordered it and all (hot) entrees arrived lukewarm or cold. No one on staff apologized to us for all of the problems and in fact were annoyed by our requests for things like water or bread. Yes, the dessert crepes were good so you can just go there for dessert, but if tonight was any indication of how the owners manage their restaurant I can't imagine that they will be in business much longer.

The best thing about Les Crepes is their dessert. Otherwise, Les Crepes was HORRIBLE! The servers were inattentive and rude - never bringing water, taking our order or bringing our food wihtout someone at our table first asking. The menu had the potential to be great, but at 7:30 on a Saturday night the restaurant was out of half of the dishes we ordered (what kind of French restaurant runs out of French onion soup at 7:30 on a Saturday night?). We waited for our food for over an hour, and it was cold once it arrived. My grandmothers food didn't arrive until 20 minutes after everyone else had been served. The whole debacle would have been resolved had the management been apologetic, but the owners refused to listen to our conerns and said that if we were unhappy there are many other restaurants we could go to instead - what!?

My experience at Les Crepes left me yearning for a return escapade to NJ - it's atmosphere tarnished only by the fact that it is not closer to where I live. "La Natalie" was most enjoyable after a wonderfully seasoned chicken crepe (of which I dare not try to replicate the spelling), with perfect depth of flavor.
