Foodzings At The Continental Midtown

Posted by Foobooz on 31st May 2007

Continental Midtown

Foodzings tries out the Contintental Midtown for the first time.

I’m not quite sure what I expected, as I never really had any desire to go to the Continental. Not ever. But I thought it was ok. The prices on the food isn’t too bad, it’s really only the drinks that seem a bit high. The service was good, attentive, and my water glass was filled most of the time.

Taco Bill’s In Somers Point

Posted by Foobooz on 31st May 2007

Taco Bill’s

The sweet mahi-mahi taco, smothered with melted tangerine-colored queso, sour cream, mango salsa, and a shot from Taco Bill’s buffet of hot sauces, comes with a side of homemade chips and green scoop ‘o’ guac. Gigantic, it qualifies as a dinner for one, a (sort of) nutritious bargain for around $10.

American Interpretation At 707

Posted by Foobooz on 31st May 2007

707 Hot Dog

The City Paper’s Trey Popp asks what is American food and takes a taste of 707’s interpretation of it.

Then the menu arrives. 707’s idea of American food starts with a “petit hot dog trio” and ends with a choice of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream. There’s also funnel cake, and customers are invited to “add chocolate sauce to any dessert, no charge!”

If there’s any doubt that 707 is dishing out high-calorie kitsch, that exclamation point gives away the game.

Wednesday Night

Posted by Foobooz on 30th May 2007

There’s at least a couple good deals in Old City tonight. Charlie’s offers $3 Golden Monkey and Jaeger shots and if you want to play a game or two of pool, there are half-priced burgers and $3 local drafts at Buffalo Billiards.
