Fork Hosts Night Of Global Sushi

On Thursday, April 26th, Fork will be holding a special Sushi Tasting and Book Signing Party with local author Sasha Issenberg. Issenberg’s first book, The Sushi Economy: Globalization and the Making of a Modern Delicacy, is a fascinating story that uncovers the far-flung global network of fanatics, chefs, tuna ranchers and pirates that make up the sushi market.

The tasting and book signing will feature a reading from Issenberg, a discussion of his book and a tasting of sushi selections created by Fork’s co-owner Ellen Yin and Chef Thien Ngo.

The cost for the event will be $55 per person. Make reservations soon.

Sashimi First Course
Emerald Cove Oyster, with jicama relish
Salmon Sashimi, with ancho lime sauce
Baby Octopus Ceviche, with coconut lime and Thai basil coulis
Yaru Soba, with ginger dipping sauce.Second Course
A progressive tasting of various interpretations of sushi, will include:
Maki Roll with Smoked Eel, sesame cracker, daikon shoots, avocado aside ancho chili wasabi
Maki Roll with Rock Shrimp, chili pepper, jicama and scallion
Ahi Tuna, with saffron sushi rice
Spanish Mackerel, with pancetta and saffron rice
Grilled Sardine, with green sushi rice

Dessert
Wasabi-Lime Sorbet, with red bean flan
