It’s Friday, it’s raining, it must be First Friday. Sure enough it is, but you’re not going to melt so get out there and do something. Besides the mummers are mummering tomorrow, and you know you have to be hung over for that. And Sunday, well that’s for the Eagles, so keep the party going right through Sunday night. And smoke them if you’ve got them, smoking ban goes back into effect on Monday. Have a great weekend and go Eagles!
Friday
The brainchild of the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation, UWISHUNU is getting more press than a Chinese laundry these days. But tonight you can share in their hype as they host a party at F.U.E.L, 3rd and Arch Street from 6 to 9 PM. There will be wine and beer will be provided by Triumph Brewing.
Saturday
Bella Vista’s James is open and at least according to reader Eric, who wrote us an email that reeks of guerrilla PR, you should go now before, “a) Craig LaBan makes it impossible to get in, and b) they get a liquor license and your bill triples.” If you haven’t checked out the interesting menu do so now at www.jameson8th.com.
Sunday
The Eagles are in the playoffs and Barristers at 19th and Sansom is pulling out all the stops with beer specials, 35 cent wings, $2 Eagletini shots, $4 Level 1 vodka drinks, and Eagles t-shirt and jersey giveaways.

FWIW, someone I know went to James and said it’s the best meal he’s had in recent memory, and he goes out to dinner a LOT. I’m going to check it out hopefully this week.
