Tasting Philly Cooks!

Posted by Foobooz on January 25th, 2007

Drew Lazor heads to Chester to check out Philadelphia Magazine’s Philly Cooks! extravaganza. And after 20 plates he can tell us that “some of the food was really crappy. For every great dish, there was a salty stew, flavorless prime rib sandwich or terrifying gnocchi-on-a-toothpick waiting to suckerpunch my palate back into Arghsville.”

But there were some winners:
Positano Coast by Aldo Lamberti’s Crudo Skewer over Prosecco won Best Seafood Dish.
Brasserie Perrier’s veal cheek with goat cheese torellini got Best Meat Dish.
Valanni’s Oreo beignet received best dessert honors.

  1. Denise Sanfarraro Says:

    Hello,

The above information considering the winnners of the Philly Cooks event (as written by City Paper) is INCORRECT. I have already emailed Drew directly regarding this misinformation. I am not certain if he was misinformed or if he just got the information wrong, however I would like this matter to be corrected immediately on your site.

Best Seafood dish was: Crudo Skewer over Prosecco and was by Positano Coast by Aldo Lamberti.

Yes we are in the same family of restaurants, however they have separate identitie and the true announced winner should be recognized.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
