Giwa

Giwa

Kirsten Henri says “don’t fear the kimchi” and you’ll be on your way to a simple but good meal at Giwa.

A good place to take your first tentative steps toward loving kimchi is Giwa, a tiny spot that opened this past September on Sansom Street. Giwa advertises itself as simple good Korean food, and its a fairly accurate description. Its hearty, simple grub, and much of what I sampled was good, though I wouldnt place anything in the category of great. There are better Korean places in town, but its a good place to dip your toe into this sort of cuisine.
