Page Six

And now a new feature on Foobooz. The blind item. Think Page Six, but with restaurants instead of celebrities.
We’ll take a for sale listing of a local bar or restaurant and together try and figure out what establishment is for sale.
This week we’ll start with a French and Mediterraneann restaurant that’s for sale because the owning family is relocating.
Details after the jump.
Asking Price: $525,000
Established: 1997
Philadelphia, PA. This is a high-end restaurant with a French and Mediterranean Cuisine. The location is in a premier area with many amenities. The facility was competely renovated within the last 18 months. The architecture of the building is a delight to the eye. In addition to the 70 seats inside, the beautiful garden area seats another 60. There is additional space available for large weddings, etc. at a minimal cost. The rent is very favorable for the location. Food accounts for 60% of gross with liquor at 40%. Gross receipts and wages are net of labor costs on in-house catering.
What could it be? Leave a guess in the comments.

Has there been a restaurant at that location since 1997? Maybe that’s what they were trying to get at.

I just walked past Le Jardin the other night and it looked bustling with customers on the outdoor patio. It’s definitely not closed.
I guess a restaurant doesn’t have to close to be put up for sale. What restaurant existed there before Le Jardin?
