Dance Of The Ripe Tomatoes

Posted by Foobooz on August 28th, 2006

Dance Of The Ripe Tomatoes

In honor of the bounty gleaned from region’s fertile ground, White Dog Cafe at 3420 Sansom Street will host its annual Dance of the Ripe Tomatoes, an outdoor celebration of sustainable and humane farming benefiting the Philadelphia Fair Food Project, on Friday, September 8, at 6:30 pm. Guests will be entertained with live music and dancing in the street while enjoying some of the area’s best craft beers and a sumptuous Farm Buffet, featuring the abundant harvest from local organic family-owned farms.

In addition to the delicious food and great drinks, The Dance of the Ripe Tomatoes will feature live rockabilly music, performed by Jim Fogarty and the Tone Benders from 8 pm to 12 midnight. The cost of the event is $35, including tax and gratuity. All proceeds will be donated to the Philadelphia Fair Food Project, a program of the White Dog Foundation, which is dedicated to bringing produce and humanely-raised meats from family-owned area farms to the city.
