Daily Candy Spills Goodies on “Ferdies”

Posted by Foobooz on July 14th, 2006

Bar Ferdinand opens today and Daily Candy gives the place a nickname and shows just how cheap the buzzing spot will be.

Plates, which range in price from $3 to $9, include crab-and-white-asparagus flan; charred watermelon with Serrano ham and tarragon; and smoked trout with potato, chives, piquillo peppers, and shallots.

Showin love for cash-poor party animals: The place is open seven days til 2 a.m. and offers $2 wine-of-the-week specials and $1 draft beer, including Alhambra, a Spanish lager exclusive to Ferdies.

I was at Ferdinand’s on the evening it opened and it was nice. But regarding cheap, just don’t order a grey goose martini. It was $14 for a very small martini glass. My wife when asked how things were mentioned this to the waitress and she said that after all it was grey goose. $14..geeze..I didn’t spend this much in New York.
