Water Works Reborn

Posted by Foobooz on June 9th, 2006

Philadelphia Water Works

Bread and Water Works

The long abandoned Water Works is about set to come back from decades of neglect as a signature restaurant. Michael Karloutsos has created a Mediterranean restaurant in the 19th Century Water Works complete with “cliffside dining.”

Ed Doherty former director of operations for Capital Grille is on board and Adan Trinidad, 24, formerly head chef of Stephen Starr’s El Vez has been put in charge of creating the Mediterranean menu that also shows traces of Trinidad’s Mexican heritage. Dishes include grilled tuna over fava beans with Belgian endive, and baby octopus marinated in cilantro, chile and garlic.

The plan is to open before July 4th, seems like breathtaking place to take in the fireworks.
